The British firm McLaren Automotive has unveiled the most powerful convertible in the company’s history, the McLaren 765LT Spider and its production will be limited to 765 units. This special version of the 720S supercar boasts an even more powerful engine and more aerodynamic styling than its predecessor, the 675LT.
The McLaren 765LT is one of the best cars on the planet. It’s faster, lighter, and more luxurious than any other vehicle ever made by McLaren. ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
McLaren 765LT comes with a twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC V-8 4.0-Liter engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, now geared up for 15 per cent faster shifts compared with the 720S Spider. 765LT has a top speed of 205 mph and a 0–60 time of 2.7 seconds.
Exterior Design
Aesthetically, the McLaren 765LT is a very radical and striking sports car in which form has been designed to perform. The presence of large and prominent doors, spoilers and bodywork attachments is not due to the search for a more aggressive aesthetic, but above all to guarantee exceptional aerodynamic performance. The maximum downforce of the McLaren 765LT is 25% higher than that of the McLaren 720S.
The McLaren 765LT boasts a highly characteristic, elongated and perfectly sculpted rear, culminating in a retractable spoiler, which not only adjusts its height and tilt to regulate downforce depending on the circumstances, but also acts as an airbrake.
Another one of the most worked aspects of the McLaren 765LT has been it’s weight. At 1,339 kilograms, the McLaren 765LT is 80 kilograms lighter than the McLaren 720S . Its quadruple exhaust system, made of titanium, weighs just 10.9 kilograms. McLaren has also used thinner and lighter windows, made of polycarbonate like that used in some racing sports cars.
Interior
McLaren 765LT has a very luxurious interior with leather seats, headrests and dashboard which gives it an elegant touch. A leather steering wheel with paddle shifters is positioned in front of you. A heads-up display shows information like speed and rpm level on your windshield so that you don’t have to take your eyes off road for more than a second or two. The stereo system comes with a subwoofer and you can listen to music while driving without any issue.
There are dual zone climate control vents for both driver and passenger side along with heated seats as well as heated mirrors. There are three compartments inside – one at center console where you can keep drinks, another at door pocket where you can keep magazines/books etc., and lastly there is one in glove box where you can keep important documents.
