Lamborghini Huracán REVIEW IN CANADA

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO is a mid -engined supercar that is positioned in the Lamborghini range below the Lamborghini Aventador. The Lamborghini Huracán was introduced in 2014 as a replacement for the Lamborghini Gallardo and later updated as the “Huracán EVO” in January 2019.

Its name “Huracán” is in honor of a brave bull that fought in the Alicante bullring in 1879 and during a confrontation has seriously injured several people. The Lamborghini Huracán is assembled in Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy and Filippo Perini is the person behind it’s stunning design.

The Lamborghini Huracán is available as a coupé and as a convertible with the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder version.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE

Its engine is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 that generates a power of 640 hp at 8,000 rpm with a torque of 600 Nm at 6,500 rpm. As far as performance is concerned, the Lamborghini Huracán marks a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds , reaches 200 km/h from standstill in 9 seconds and its maximum speed is 325 km/h.

This power is distributed to all four wheels through an all-wheel drive system with Haldex center differential and also has a rear limited-slip differential, using a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission called “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” by the brand. Added to this is that since the arrival of the Huracán EVO, a directional rear axle and torque vector control, allowing each wheel to be managed independently to achieve better cornering.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

The measurements of the Lamborghini Huracán EVO, taking the coupé body as a reference, go through a length of 4,459 mm, a width (mirrors not included) of 1,924 mm, a height of 1,165 mm and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Its dry weight is 1,422 kg and its weight distribution is 42 / 57.

INTERIOR

The interior design of the Huracán is characterized by the use of very strong lines and an aesthetic clearly inspired by aviation. We are talking about a very personal design, with abundant edges and hexagonal shapes that are applied to controls, aerators and even seats. The design of its cabin is designed to accommodate only two occupants, although it does offer a sufficient level of interior space to travel comfortably and with a fairly high level of equipment in infotainment.

Since the launch of the Huracán in 2014, this model already offers a fully digital 12.3″ instrument panel. It was in its 2019 update, the central multimedia system with an 8.4″ touch screen was introduced. It is an interface from which the bulk of the vehicle’s functions are controlled, such as navigation, driving assistants or audio. Despite this, its most important functions are controlled from the steering wheel and the digital instrument panel that exists behind it.
