Kia EV6 REVIEW IN CANADA
There’s something about electric cars that sets them apart from their gas-guzzling counterparts. Maybe it’s the zero emissions, maybe it’s the low levels of noise compared to gasoline engines, or maybe it’s the futuristic design that makes EVs seem like vehicles from another world entirely. Whatever it is, electric cars have definitely struck an interest in many people these days, and Kia wants to capitalize on that popularity with its new EV6 electric car line-up.
Kia’s new high-end electric vehicle (EV) has been getting a lot of press lately, but is it all worth it?

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
The Kia EV6 comes with 2 battery options, a 58 kWh standard battery and a 77.4 kWh Long Range battery pack. Standard battery can give you 373 km (232 miles) on a single charge while the mighty larger one up to 499 km (310 miles). Kia EV6 can generate a 362 horsepower with it’s powerful engine, and has a top speed of 260 km/h and can reach 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
This vehicle can be charged from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes with a fast charger, making it extremely convenient. Even better, it only takes seven hours to fully charge when plugged into your wall at home. Another great feature is its ability to drive over 300 miles on one single charge!

EXTERIOR DESIGN
What do you think of when you see an electric vehicle? A small, boxy machine with bulky, unattractive design? Kia’s goal for its first-ever pure EV was to create something that looked as good as it drives. It appears they succeeded. The slender lines and slick finish of Kia’s EV6 make it appear like nothing else on your road—or in your driveway. And like other EVs on the market, Kia’s EV6 is designed to be charged at home using a standard outlet or at any public charging station hassle free.
INTERIOR

The Kia EV6 is not one of those super-basic cars with minimal legroom and an uncomfortable ride. The EV provides drivers with lots of leg room, in addition to being able to easily adjust seat heaters. The car’s smooth drive means that you won’t ever feel exhausted from your long commutes. Interior of Kia’s EV6 is absolutely gorgeous, with a soft-touch dashboard, control panel, and seating. The trunk holds plenty of cargo space for all your groceries or weekend getaways.
Safety Features
If there’s one aspect of an automobile with which consumers should not cut corners, it’s safety. With no engine or transmission under its hood, there are fewer places for harmful objects to hide. Nevertheless, Kia takes measures to ensure every driver—new or experienced—can rest easy.
Advanced airbags, stability-control systems, side curtain airbags, traction control systems to keep you safe on road. In addition the Kia EV6 is quipped with state-of-the-art safety features such as lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection to keep everyone at road, safe.
Driving Range
The driving range of an electric vehicle is influenced by three factors: battery capacity, driving habits, and driving conditions. With regard to driving conditions, cold weather can substantially decrease battery performance for both plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles. In addition, extreme heat or heavy use of accessories (i.e., air conditioning) will also impact driving range on electric vehicles. As a rule of thumb, plan on reducing your driving range by 10% in winter and 25% in summer compared to average temperatures.
Driving style also plays a role in determining how far you can go on one charge—for example, frequent stop-and-go traffic can drain your battery faster than highway cruising will. Finally, it’s important to note that some electric cars have larger batteries with greater ranges than others. The Kia EV6 has a range of about 499 km (310 miles) per full charge under ideal conditions. However, if you drive more aggressively or frequently experience hot weather, expect your range to be closer to 400 km (250 miles) per full charge.
