Bugatti Veyron REVIEW IN USA
The Bugatti Veyron was the supercar that signed the return of Bugatti as a manufacturer, already belonging to the Volkswagen Group and becoming the halo car of the entire automobile group by using the most advanced solutions of the moment. The Veyron was a project that took many years to be brought to production, a model that was a revolution in the automobile industry, taking performance far beyond what brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche had proposed at that time.

The production of the Bugatti Veyron started in September 2005, however the planning took place since 2001. The period between 2001 and 2005 was full of challenges to fulfill the promise of Ferdinand Piëch, Director of the Volkswagen Group, who wanted to bring to the market a car capable of exceeding 1,000 hp maximum power and 400 km/h top speed. The problems and challenges of the group of engineers in charge of developing the Veyron led the project to continuous delays until finally became a reality in 2005.
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
The most remarkable point of the Bugatti Veyron is under its hood. The engineers behind the design of Bugatti Veyron finally fulfilled their promise of manufacturing a car capable of exceeding 1,000 horsepower and 400 km/h speed. Its heart is an 8.0-Liter, W16 Quad-Turbo engine capable of developing 1,001 hp of maximum power and 1,250 Nm of torque in the first versions and 1,200 hp of maximum power and 1,500 Nm of torque in the Super Sport versions and some special editions derived from this variant.

The Bugatti Veyron’s performance speaks for itself with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 408 km/h in the Veyrons with a 1,001 hp engine and 431 km/h in the Super Sport version.
The transmission is of the dual-clutch type, with 7 speeds and manufactured by the British specialist Ricardo. In addition, a permanent four-wheel drive system with Haldex-type center differential was used. The Bugatti Veyron’s tire kit was developed exclusively for this model given its power and maximum speed, so the manufacturer Michelin was in charge of fitting the Veyron with a Michelin Sport PAX kit with run-flat technology in sizes 265-680. ZR 500A at the front and 365-710 ZR 500A at the rear.
Veyron Speed Records
Reaching the top speed by a car was always one of the main goals of Bugatti Veyron which seems like a dream to other car manufacturers at the time. The first version of the Bugatti Veyron launched on the market achieved this by reaching 408 km/h. However, later again Bugatti developed another version of the Veyron with a 1,200 hp engine and named it Veyron Super Sport. This model managed to reach a record speed of 431 km/h in 2010.
Bugatti Veyron Special Editions
Despite having a limited production of only 450 units and a purchase price of around 1.5 million dollars (during 2005-2015 period), dozens of special editions were made . These special editions offered an extra exclusivity and customization to their clients, finding reinterpretations of brand classics and as tribute to drivers.

Bugatti Chiron – The Successor of Veyron
In 2016 the Bugatti Chiron was presented, the heir to the Bugatti Veyron which, despite being a completely new model, shares a philosophy and many of its keys in design and technical approach from the Veyron.
In a way the Bugatti Chiron can be understood as an evolution of the Veyron, yet it offers a significant step forward in performance to reaffirm its focus as one of the fastest cars in the world. Its 8.0 W16 Quad-Turbo powertrain was redesigned to reach 1,500 hp of maximum power and 1,600 Nm of torque. The dual-clutch gearbox with 7 gears and the all-wheel drive system were maintained.
To date Bugatti has not revealed the actual top speed that the Chiron is capable of, leaving us with a 0-100 km/h time of 2.4 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 420 km/h.
