Aston Martin DBS REVIEW IN Canada
Launched in 2018, the Aston Martin DBS is basically a sportier and more exclusive edition of the Aston Martin DB11. This model still shares many parts with its predecessor, but it does this to differentiate itself from the classic GT-style driving experience offered by the DB11. With its added focus on performance and sharp exterior designs – this vehicle can be considered one of a kind.
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
Thanks to the many upgrades, the DBS can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km/h. It also provides an excellent driving experience; something that makes it even suitable for racing circuits.
In the technical section, we’ll explore some of the many ways in which this Aston Martin DBS sets itself apart from other vehicles in its class. For starters, it features a 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine with an output capacity of 725 horsepower and 900 pounds per foot torque. Other noteworthy improvements include an 8-speed automatic transmission provided by ZF Engineering—in fact, it’s unique to this model alone—and an electronically controlled differential.
Suspension components are exclusive to the DBS as well – including lightweight forged aluminum wheels and carbon ceramic brakes that provide greatly improved braking performance due to larger 16.1 diameter disks at the front paired with 6 piston calipers; while still maintaining consistency at speeds up to 340 km/h (which is roughly 200 mph). All these enhancements result in what could quite easily be deemed one of the world’s fastest cars—but again, only if you’re brave enough!
The body design of the DBS Superleggera is strikingly different from that of the DB11. It features an imposing front bumper resembling that of the early models, including those in the DB AR1 series – along with a lower set side skirts and air vents at both sides of the car near the wheels, while at the back there are 4 exhaust pipes and a large diffuser, all capped off by a carbon-fiber spoiler placed atop what would otherwise be an otherwise plain tail end.
The interior design of the Aston Martin DBS is nearly identical to that of the DB11, though this may not seem like a bad thing considering how wonderful the car’s cabin design really is. It was designed as a two-seater but offers 2+2 seats for more cargo space, providing an atmosphere that blends luxury and excitement. Materials used throughout the car include leather, alcantara and fabric pieces made from noble materials.
With its customization options available which includes an unlimited number of paint finishes, fabrics and other aesthetics – drivers can create their own bespoke experience behind the wheel.
Aston Martin DBS VERDICT
Whether you’re a seasoned driver or a first-time explorer, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera has the capability to thrill even the most experienced of driver. From superior performance, exquisite design and high-tech features, this is truly a car worth investing in.
